Hemp protein is a refined by-product created during the production of hemp oil. Hemp oil is pressed from the seeds of the hemp plant, which is common in parts of Europe and China. The press cake resulting from oil production is then finely ground and sold as hemp protein. It is gluten-free, lactose-free and vegan and is therefore an ideal substitute for conventional white flour. Due to its extremely balanced amino acid profile, hemp protein covers all essential amino acids that cannot be produced by the body itself and therefore have to be added to the diet as a supplement.
